TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR TUITION AT MOZART STUDIOS AS OF JANUARY 2023

The following Terms and Conditions apply to all lesson agreements made between Mozart Studios (“Mozarts”) and its students and parents/care-givers (student).

The Terms and Conditions described below have been discussed at length amongst the Mozarts leadership team with the endeavour of making them as fair as possible for both client and provider.  We try to approach each individual case in good faith with an open ear and we hope that you too will also approach us in the same professional manner.

Term Dates

Teaching weeks at Mozarts roughly adhere to the Ontario Ministry of Education School year.  However, there are  occasional differences and our calendar dates are sent out at the beginning of the school year.

For children attending the preschool levels at Montessori, classes run 12 months of the year when the schools are open.

Communications

All correspondence is sent out to the student/parent by email.  If this causes a problem, please let Mozarts know.

It is the responsibility of the student/parent to make Mozarts aware of any changes to their contact details.  Mozarts will not be held responsible for any missed communications, late/overdue payments, missed lessons, etc. if this is due to incorrect contact information.

Due to the size of our student enrolment, most of Mozarts communication is done via bulk delivery services e.g. mailchimp, therefore there is a level of potential error associated with this. If you notice something incorrect e.g. lesson details or account details, it is not meant offensively.  In these cases please let us know via email to office@montessorimozarts.com so we can rectify the situation as soon as possible.

Scheduling of Lessons

The student/parent will be informed of the lesson day, time and the date of their first lesson before their teaching commences, either by phone, in person or email.  Mozarts will aim to confirm all the lesson details by email, but does not guarantee that this will be the case if it deems sufficient confirmation has been provided by other means

Virtual and site-based lessons – if the agreed lesson times or days need to be changed, the student/parent will be contacted as far in advance as possible and alternative arrangements will be made to continue the lessons at times and days that suit the student and Mozarts.

Absences

Individual lessons – If the student is unable to attend a lesson please let Mozarts know at the earliest time possible, by email to office@monessorimozarts.com which will be passed onto the relevant teacher(s) – you are also welcome to make direct contact with the teacher as well if you choose to.

Mozarts teachers are trained to go above and beyond to help with absences and this is where the Master Classes come in.  Two hour Master Classes are offered monthly to give the student an opportunity to perform and meet new friends.  These classes are free and compensate for any missed lessons during the month.  Please make the most of these great opportunities, whether your child has missed a lesson or not.

Please not the onus is on the parent to jointly work with the teacher to ensure students are receiving their lessons.  The teachers are instructed to diligently help in this so please let the main office know if you feel this is not happening.

If the student’s teacher is unavailable to teach, Mozarts will attempt to arrange a cover teacher and give you as much notice as possible.

If a student will be absent for more than three weeks due to medical reasons, please contact the office.

Duration of the Lesson Agreement – ongoing

The lesson agreement between Mozarts and the student is a rolling agreement that continues into each new year.

The student/parent is emailed the invoice towards the end of the year in respect of the following year’s lessons, until a cancellation notice is received, as discussed below.

Cancelling the Lesson Agreement – the student must opt out of the Lesson Agreement with Mozarts

If the student wishes to cancel the lesson agreement with Mozarts, written notice must be received by Mozarts management at least 30 days prior to the intended last lesson.

Verbal notice given to the teacher will not be acted upon and is not considered sufficient unless confirmed in writing to the Mozarts main office by the student/parent.

Tuition Fees and Accounting

Mozarts teachers cannot accept payments in any form.

Mozarts prefers online/internet banking payment.

New students are set-up on a monthly automatic withdrawal when their enrolment is processed which is continuous while the Lesson Agreement is ongoing.

If you wish to pay for the full-year in advance this can be done by credit card.

If the student commences lessons part way through the month, the remainder of that month will be billed.

Penalties

Dishonoured Internet Payments – the student’s account will be debited with a $50 fee if any online payment is annulled.

Photography & Filming

Mozarts may use film or still photographs of students for appropriate promotional purposes.

You (or your parents if you are under 18 years of age) must inform Mozarts in writing at anytime if you will not permit the use of such images.

Changes to the Terms and Conditions

The Terms and Conditions described above are agreed to upon enrollment and may be changed at any point by Mozarts without providing notice to the teacher.  A copy of the Terms and Conditions will always be available on our website www.montessorimozart.com and may be emailed to the student/parent upon request.
